Everything is about timing
September 28, 2016“Everything is about timing” is such a cliché statement, but I fully believe in it. Time is a construct we created, something totally subjective that we all follow. Sounds weird because we can count time. We still keep saying “time flies” or “today was a long day” even if every second is always the same amount of time.
Time is synonymous with words like coincidence and predestine. For me it’s still a mystery which of the two don’t exist, or do they both? I’m very excited about figuring that out. There are so many moments where you think, this can’t be a coincidence, it just can’t, this just has to be predestined. Sometimes you’re having such a bad period in your life, you’re stuck in a film that you never want to undergo again, and you feel like you’re will never get out of that phase. Then one day, it happens; Something happens which makes you brake the cycle you were in, you feel like everything is going to be better. That’s another very cliché statement, but absolutely true: “everything is going to be better”. When, where and why not now? No one knows, probably because it’s predestined. Or it happens by chance.
It’s crazy how time determines so many things in life, in so many ways. Not only little things like you overslept, checked your phone and saw that your teacher got sick anyway. But also big things like when you’re on vacation in Spain and you’re in a restaurant and exactly at that evening in that restaurant you see a friend of yours and you didn’t know he would be there also. It also happens when accidents take place, because you make a certain choice and then you end up at the wrong place and in the wrong moment and something terrible happens. At those kind of moments you really hope it was a coincidence, that it happened accidentally. You really want to think that it is, because if it’s predestined, then why? Why did this happen to you? It can be so difficult to understand, and especially accept those situations which you can’t change. Because you just can’t change them. You can’t go back in time. A lot of times we wish we could, but even then you will never know if that would be a good choice. Because of the decisions you make, conscious and unconscious, and because of the things that happen to you, a consequence happens, and it can be something you would never want to change, and then you will even be kind of grateful that it happened. And then you realize, everything is going to be better.
I’m stunned how these complex things happen. I could think for hours and days about how these things work. Right now I believe that everything happens for a reason. It’s not that life has figured out every single step you have to take for you. But everything that happens, just has to happen.
